The Rio Grande Train is a gentle family ride that everyone can enjoy together. Young children and toddlers should ride with a responsible adult, and all passengers must remain seated with their seatbelt fastened throughout the journey.

Rio Grande Train Safety Rules
For a safe and enjoyable ride, please follow these rules and all instructions from our staff. Please finish your food and drinks before boarding.
Young Children Ride with an Adult
Toddlers and young children should ride with a responsible adult and remain safely seated throughout the ride.
Seatbelt On at All Times
Fasten your seatbelt before departure and keep it fastened until the train has completely stopped.
Remain Seated
Do not stand, walk or change seats while the train is moving.
Keep Everything Inside
Keep your head, arms, hands and legs inside the carriage. Do not lean outside the train.
Wait for a Complete Stop
Remain seated until the train has stopped completely at the platform and staff tell you it is safe to exit.
Stay Off the Track
Do not enter or walk on the train track. If the train stops away from the platform, stay seated with your seatbelt fastened and wait for staff instructions.
Participation is subject to Dunsborough Fun Park’s Conditions of Entry and Participant Waiver. Please follow all posted safety rules and staff instructions at all times.

Before you ask us
Can a toddler ride?
Yes. There is no minimum age or height requirement. Toddlers and young children should ride with a responsible adult and must remain safely seated with their seatbelt fastened for the entire ride. The manufacturer specifically requires young children to be supervised by an adult.
Do we need to wear seatbelts?
Yes. Every passenger must be seated and wearing their safety belt before the train starts. Keep your seatbelt fastened until the train has completely stopped.
Does the train run all day?
During quieter periods, the Rio Grande Train may operate at scheduled departure times. During busier periods, additional rides may operate throughout the day. Please check with our team for the next departure.
Can adults ride too?
Yes. The Rio Grande Train is a family ride, so adults can ride with children, subject to available seating and staff instructions.
Is the train included in a day pass?
Yes. The Rio Grande Train is included with eligible day passes, so you can ride again during the day while the attraction is operating.
Can children ride by themselves?
Older children may ride without an adult when staff are satisfied they can remain safely seated and follow the ride rules. Toddlers and young children should ride with a responsible adult.
What happens if the train stops away from the platform?
Stay seated, keep your seatbelt fastened and wait for staff instructions. Do not try to get out of the carriage or enter the track area. This is also specifically stated in the manufacturer’s passenger instructions.
Can we stand up or lean out during the ride?
No. Remain seated throughout the ride and keep your head, arms, hands and legs inside the carriage at all times.
