Can my child ride the Bumper Cars?

Children 120 cm and over may drive independently if they can safely reach and operate the accelerator pedal, control the steering wheel and follow the operator’s instructions. Children under 120 cm must ride with an accompanying adult in an approved two-seater car.

120 cm+ — Independent Driving — Must be able to comfortably reach and operate the accelerator pedal, control the steering and follow staff instructions.

Under 120 cm — Adult Required — Children under 120 cm must ride with an accompanying adult in an approved two-seater Bumper Car.

140 kg — Maximum Combined Weight -When individual or two people ride together, their single or combined weight must not exceed 140 kg.

Bumper car safety rules

These are the rules posted at the arena. Read them with your kids before you queue and the whole session runs better.

Do — for a safe ride

  • Follow the operator's instructions and signals.
  • Queue in order and board only when directed by staff.
  • Sit properly and keep your seat belt fastened throughout the ride.
  • Drivers: keep control of the steering wheel while driving.
  • Keep your hands, arms, legs, feet and head inside the car.
  • Drive with the general flow of traffic.
  • Wait for a full stop and power-off before unbuckling.
  • If your car stops during the ride, release the pedal, stay seated, raise your hand and wait for staff.
  • Tell the operator if you feel unwell or need assistance.
  • Long hair should be tied securely, and keys, phones, selfie sticks and other sharp/loose objects should be stored before riding.
  • Remain seated with your seat belt fastened until all cars have stopped and staff tell you it is safe to exit.

Do not — prohibited actions.

  • Don't stand, crouch or put your head, hands, arms, legs or feet outside the car.
  • Don't unbuckle or exit the car until it has completely stopped and staff instruct you to.
  • Do not deliberately ram another car aggressively or repeatedly. Avoid deliberate head-on collisions.
  • If your car stops, do not get out and push it — raise your hand and wait for staff.
  • Never get out of the car while the ride is operating.
  • Don't chase, play or linger in the arena once your ride ends.
  • Don't lean out of the car while moving.
  • Don't ride if you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • Don't ignore the operator's instructions.

Do not ride if you:

  • Are pregnant.
  • Have a heart condition.
  • Have high blood pressure.
  • Have neck, back or spinal problems.
  • Have recently had surgery or an injury.
  • Have epilepsy, seizures or a medical condition affected by sudden movement.
  • Have osteoporosis or a condition that may be worsened by this ride.
  • Are feeling unwell or dizzy.

If something goes wrong

Car stops suddenly

Release the pedal, stay seated, raise your hand and wait for staff.

Feeling unwell

Release the pedal, stay seated and raise your hand. Wait for staff assistance.

Dropped an item

Don't lean out or get out to retrieve it. Wait for a full stop and ask staff for assistance.

Yes. Dunsborough Fun Park’s maximum weight per car is 140 kg, including both riders when sharing a two-seater.

Bumping is part of the ride, but deliberately aggressive or repeated ramming is not allowed. Avoid deliberate head-on collisions and follow the general flow of traffic. Our operators may stop a ride at any time for safety reasons.

Children under 120 cm must ride with an accompanying adult in an approved two-seater Bumper Car. The maximum combined weight is 140 kg per car, and all riders must remain seated with their seat belts fastened. Ask our team if you’re unsure whether your child can ride.

Secure phones, keys and other loose belongings before boarding, or leave them with a non-riding member of your group. Remove loose accessories and tie back long hair. Do not use phones or handle loose objects while driving. Food, drinks and sharp objects are not permitted in the ride area.
